Verify a co-resident in person

The co-resident list is in development and not on any phone yet. When the list opens, meet once, compare the code on both phones in Settings → Co-residents, and tap “Mark verified.”

Your co-resident list holds residents in your own ACGME program who use Capnolog. Membership comes from each resident's own ACGME sign-in, never from a typed claim. The co-resident list is in development and switched off on every phone today, so these steps describe the build that is waiting.

  1. 1

    Open Settings → Co-residents

The screen holds your name, the “Listed for co-residents” switch, and a section called “Verified in person.”

  2. 2

    Meet the co-resident

Under “Verified in person,” each phone shows a QR code and a short code for that phone. The co-residents you have exchanged keys with sit below, each with a code beside the name.

  3. 3

    Compare the codes

The code beside the co-resident's name on your phone has to match the code on the co-resident's own phone. There is no camera scan, so read the short code aloud and compare by eye.

  4. 4

    Tap “Mark verified”

The row then reads Verified. Ask the co-resident to do the same on the other phone.

  5. 5

    When a co-resident gets a new phone

A new phone or a reinstall brings a new key. The change shows under “Keys changed.” A send to that co-resident stops to warn you first. Check with the co-resident before you tap “Trust the new key.”

  6. 6

Block someone, or leave the list

Touch and hold a name in the co-resident picker, then tap Block. A blocked co-resident cannot find you or send you anything. Turn off “Listed for co-residents” to leave the list.

Plans already sent to you still open after you leave the list. Unblock sits under “Blocked co-residents.”

Until you verify a pair, each phone keeps the first key it sees for a co-resident. The co-resident list is in development and not on any phone yet.
