Sign in, sign out, or delete your account

Open Settings → Account & access → Account & devices. Sign in with Apple on an iPhone, with Google, or with a code sent to a personal email. Signing out unlinks the phone, and your cases stay on the phone. “Delete account” removes the account from Capnolog. “Erase all data” clears the phone, and the two are separate on purpose.

One free account links your devices: a new phone, a computer, and the ACGME extension. Everything about the account lives on one screen.

   Open Settings → Account & access → Account & devices

   The screen shows whether this phone is signed in and which devices are linked to the account.

   Pick a way to sign in

   An iPhone offers Sign in with Apple. Every phone offers Google and a “Use a personal email” button. The email route sends a code to the address you type, so there is no password to remember.

   Use an address you will keep after residency. A hospital address usually ends when training does.

   Sign out without losing anything

   Tap “Sign out” and confirm. Signing out unlinks this phone from the account. Your cases, notes, plans, and templates stay on the phone.

   Delete your account

   Tap “Delete account,” then type DELETE to confirm. Capnolog deletes the account and every device link, and the deletion cannot be undone. Nothing on your phone is deleted. The phone needs a connection for this step.

   Erase the phone too, if you want everything gone

   Open Settings → Data & privacy → Backup & sync and tap “Erase all data.” The confirmation names how many cases will be erased. Erasing also deletes your iCloud backup, and the phone asks for Face ID or your passcode first.

   Erasing the phone does not delete the account, and deleting the account does not erase the phone. Do both if you want both gone.
