Capnolog press kit

Capnolog is a phone app that lets a resident log an ACGME case in seconds and holds no patient data.

Boilerplate

Capnolog is a case-logging app for residents and fellows. A case goes in on the phone in the seconds after it ends, and the app counts what has been logged against the published ACGME minimums and national averages for that specialty, so a gap shows up in November rather than in the final months of training. The log is de-identified by design: there is no field for a name, a medical record number, or a birthday, and the parsing runs on the device. A companion browser extension prefills the resident's own official ACGME Case Log form, one case at a time, in their own browser; the resident reviews every field and presses Save. Capnolog covers anesthesiology and neurological surgery, plus the fellowship packs for five anesthesia subspecialties.

Founder

Chris, CA-1, anesthesiology

That is the whole attribution. No surname and no program are published: a resident writing publicly about case logging is a different disclosure than naming where they train. Capnolog is one person's work rather than a venture-funded team.

It prefills the official form in your own browser, one case at a time. The resident reviews every field and presses Save.

Built to hold no patient identifiers, with parsing on the device. We make no compliance representation; see the security page for the mechanism.

  • A medical device, or a clinical decision tool.

A logging and progress-tracking aid for training records. It makes no clinical recommendation.
