The form knows the rotation you wrote down
Write your block year down once — thirteen blocks, each a label, two dates and a hospital. A case opens at the hospital your schedule says you were at, leading with what that rotation asks for. The form reports what the schedule says, never a guess at your location. A case entered for a past date resolves against that date's month.
132 formulas, every one cited
Body weights, fluids, and blood, blood gas, electrolytes, airway, hemodynamics, kidneys, liver, ICU scores and the drips — searched by name. A blood-gas ladder checks the numbers are internally consistent before interpreting them. A threshold prints only where a citation stands behind it; where none does, you get the number without an invented band.
Eighty-three questions, answered
An evidence library holds the questions residency actually asks, each answered in a few lines and backed by the landmark papers. 240 papers back the library, each checked against the paper's own published record and linked to the source. The library surfaces the questions your own case mix raises, and keeps retracted and tainted papers visible rather than quietly deleting them. Bundled in the app, the library works in airplane mode, and nothing you look up is recorded or sent anywhere.
Find any case again
One archive, searched by procedure, room, surgeon or attending, narrowed with filters, or opened at one day by tapping a date on the year grid. The match count, the day totals and the rows you scroll all compile to one query. A number can never disagree with what sits underneath.
Thirty days to change your mind
A deleted case, plan or note goes to a bin for thirty days and restores in a tap. Permanent removal takes a deliberate gesture, and a separate history says whether the app removed something or you did.
No patient identifiers
Capnolog does not collect names, MRNs, or birthdays. Case data is encrypted on your device. Your account links devices; it stores only an account ID and program.

The subscription URL is written to this device and fetched from it. Capnolog never receives the URL, because a published feed link is an unauthenticated key to a year of one person's whereabouts. The only safe number of copies is one.
The feed is not kept
Each check reads the calendar and drops it. What survives is the assignment name you matched to a rotation and the block the match produced. Real feeds carry notes naming colleagues, and those are cut before anything is stored.
Your edits win
A refresh may only touch a block the import still owns and that you have not changed since. A block you typed, moved, or renamed stays exactly as you left it.

The form already knows what kind of day it is.
With the schedule in — typed or imported — Today names the rotation you are on, and the new-case sheet leans that way. The options that rotation actually produces come forward, the ones it never uses sit behind More detail, and on an anesthetizing rotation the usual values arrive already chosen, marked as assumed and one tap from changing.
Nothing is removed and nothing about counting changes — one switch in Settings turns the whole thing off. And on a month that does not produce loggable cases, the pace hints stay quiet instead of telling you that you are behind.

Patient details, on device
Initials, age, weight, and allergies sit in a locked block, behind Face ID or your fingerprint, and stay on your phone. That block leaves only inside your own backup — an end-to-end-encrypted iCloud backup on iPhone, or an encrypted file in a folder you pick on Android. The block is erased the moment you log.
The note that files itself.
