Share a plan with a co-resident
Shared plans are in development and not on any phone yet. When they open, tap Share in the plan editor, pick a co-resident from your program, choose Hand off or Plan together, then tap Send.

A plan sent as a screenshot stops matching the moment either resident edits the plan. A shared plan stays one plan on two phones. Shared plans are in development and switched off on every phone today, so these steps describe the build that is waiting.
- 1
Tap Share in the plan editor
Open the plan. Share sits at the top of the editor, beside the save status.
- 2
Pick the co-resident
The list under “Send this plan to” shows residents from your ACGME program who use Capnolog, with their class year.
Someone not on Capnolog yet gets “Invite a co-resident” instead: a short message with the download link and no plan.
- 3
Choose Hand off or Plan together
Hand off gives the co-resident the case. Your copy is view only until you tap “Take the plan back.” Plan together keeps both phones editing one plan.
Plan together is for a junior covering a case with a senior. Every change the senior makes shows up on the junior's phone with an Undo.
- 4
Check what goes with the plan
The plan carries the case, the procedure, and the whole anesthetic plan. The patient travels only as initials, age, sex, height, and weight. History, prior anesthetics, and your answers for the log stay on your phone.
The switch for allergies, drugs to avoid, MH, and a known difficult airway starts on. Leave the switch on so the other phone can warn about the same allergies and drugs.
- 5
Tap Send
The button reads “Send to” and the co-resident's first name. An Undo shows for a few seconds before the plan leaves your phone.
“Send as PDF instead” sits on the same sheet.
- 6
Read what changed
Edits from the other resident arrive with a line such as “Dana made 3 changes.” Each change has an Undo. When you both changed one thing, tap “Keep mine” or “Use Dana's.”
- 7
Stop sharing whenever you like
Tap “Stop sharing this plan.” Each resident keeps a copy. Neither phone sees new changes from the other after that.
Logging is never shared. Each resident logs the case from their own copy. Deleting your copy never deletes the other resident's plan.
Only the two of you can open a shared plan. Shared plans are in development and not on any phone yet.
More in day to day
Speak it, tap it, or use a template — and never lose a case.
Set up tomorrow's OR board the night before — then log each case in one tap.
Share a case template or an attending note with your program, and use the ones your co-residents shared.
Shared cases are in development: send a neurosurgery case to the co-resident who scrubbed in.
