Log a case in seconds

Tap “Log a case” on the Log tab and your usual site, room and attending are already filled in. Say the case in one breath, tap the answers, or apply a saved template. Capnolog shows what it captured and flags anything it is unsure of. Tap Save, or save the minimum now and finish it later from “To finish.”

Logging is meant to take under ten seconds, so you can do it between rooms instead of reconstructing cases later. Here's the whole flow.

   Open a new case

   Tap “Log a case” on the Log tab. Your usual site, room, and attending are pre-filled from your last case, so a routine case is nearly done before you start.

   Speak it, tap it, or use a template

   Tap the mic and say the case in one breath. “ASA 3, 68-year-old, general with an a-line for a cardiac case” is enough. You can also tap the answers on the form. A saved template fills in a case you do often.

   Voice parses on-device — the words you say about a patient never leave your phone.

   Check what Capnolog heard

   Capnolog shows what it captured. Any answer it is unsure of has a dashed outline and the word “check” beside it. Tap the answer to fix it, or save the case as it stands. The form tells you when ASA, age or the anesthetic is still missing.

   Save — or save for later

   Tap Save to log a complete case. Not finished? Save the minimum now and it lands in “To finish,” so you can add detail later without losing the case.

   An Undo appears for a few seconds after every save, so a mistaken log is one tap to reverse.

   Plan tomorrow, tonight (optional)

   In the Plan tab you can set up tomorrow's OR board the night before in an encrypted, on-device planner. When a case is done, log it in a tap — or batch-log the whole day at once.
