Log a procedure without a full case
Open a new case and enter what you did: the patient's age, the procedure, the hospital, and the attending. Leave the anesthesia type empty. The line above Save then reads “Logging as a procedure,” and the entry counts without an ASA class. Add an anesthesia type and the entry becomes a full case.

Some days you place a line or a block for a case that is not yours. That work counts, and logging the work does not need a whole anesthetic.

Open a new case as usual
There is no separate form. Capnolog decides between a full case and a procedure from the answers you give.

Enter the procedure and leave the anesthesia type empty
A procedure entry needs the patient's age, at least one procedure, the hospital, and the attending. An arterial line, an ultrasound-guided line, a block, or a pain procedure all qualify.

Check the line above Save
The line says “Logging as a procedure · add an anesthesia type for a full case” when the entry qualifies. An entry with that line needs no ASA class.

Add an anesthesia type to make a full case
A full case also needs the ASA class before the case counts toward your minimums. The form tells you when one is missing.
A nerve block on its own stays a procedure. Capnolog does not assume you gave the anesthetic because you placed the block.
