Make Capnolog work the way you do
Almost everything about how the app looks and behaves lives on one page: Settings → Appearance & units. Six groups, in the order people actually look for them.
Appearance
System, light, or dark. System follows your phone, which is what most people want and is the default.
Units — two switches, because they are two different risks
One switch governs what the keypad asks you for (body measurements). The other governs what a result is printed in (vascular resistance). They are separate rows on purpose: entering a number in the wrong unit and reading a number in the wrong unit fail in different ways, and the captions say which is which.
Notes
Auto-capitalization, keeping the screen awake while you write, and whether a note's title is allowed to appear on your Lock Screen. The last one matters if you title notes after the thing you are worried about.
Reminders
A door to the “log your cases” notification. It is opt-in, it is one notification, and it exists because the cases you lose are the ones from the day you meant to log tonight.
Planning preferences
If your specialty has the planner, this group holds the OR board switch, which fields dictation is allowed to skip, the layout of the plan page, and the doors into your saved drugs, allergens and surgeons. The whole cluster hides when the planner does not apply to you, rather than sitting there greyed out.
Security
Face ID and how long the app waits before it locks. Turning the lock off asks you to authenticate first — otherwise a lock is only as good as whoever is holding the phone.
Advanced, kept last on purpose
The experimental editor toggles, a reset for the tips you dismissed, and the setup guide. They sit at the bottom and apart so an experimental switch is never one row away from a routine one.
What is not on this page
Your block year has its own page, and your case templates have their own manager. Both are worth a visit; neither is a preference.
Nothing on this page changes what is loggable, what is counted, or what is saved. It changes what you look at.
More in get set up
Add your hospitals, generate your rooms, and say which name on the OR board is yours.
Build the lists Capnolog fills from — and fix one when it is wrong.
Thirteen rows that stop the app guessing where you were.
