Your attendings, surgeons, and saved names

Four lists do most of the typing for you. They are all built the same way — Capnolog watches what you enter and remembers it — which means they are all worth correcting once rather than working around forever.

   Attendings live in one place

   Settings → Program & roster → “Manage attendings.” Search, add and remove from the same screen. Names are stored “Last, First” and sorted by surname, and adding the same person under a second spelling is caught and named rather than silently duplicated.

   Import rather than type

   Two shortcuts sit on that screen: look a name up in the provider directory, or import a CSV your program already has. Both land in the same roster.

   Editing an attending is three fields

   The display name you read, the exact string the ACGME form expects, and whether they are still active. An attending who left keeps their cases and stops appearing in pickers.

   Surgeons are remembered as you plan

   Settings → Appearance & units → Surgeons lists every surgeon the plan editor picked up while you typed, filed under whichever service the plan was set to at the time. Tap a row to fix the name or move it to the right service; swipe to remove one.

   A name entered before the service was set lands under “No service set” and then never appears on the strip that would have saved you the typing. This is the screen that fixes that.

   Saved drugs and allergens are a safety list

   Same section, next row. A misspelling here is not cosmetic: the allergy warning matches on the spelling, so an allergen saved as “Penicilin” quietly fails to warn against penicillin. Renaming merges into the correct entry rather than forking a second one, because the right spelling is usually already there.

   Every library edit is forward-only

   A correction fixes every future suggestion and every future warning — not the plans already written, where the name is stored as plain text. To fix a plan you are looking at, edit it there.

These lists are provider names and drug names. They stay on your device, and they ride the encrypted backup with everything else.
